PINEDALE – Athletes on the Sublette County combined girls’ swim team posted improved times in multiple events at the Pinedale High School Homecoming Meet hosted by the Pinedale Aquatic Center on Saturday, Oct. 1.
Sublette County placed eighth overall with 78 points at the event featuring tough competition from across western Wyoming.
Senior Lilly Joseph qualified for State in 11 dives at the meet. She picked up seventh place in the event, tallying 275.05 points. Joseph qualified in six dives earlier in the season.
The Sublette County 400-freestyle relay team broke into the top five. Senior Morgan Grossman, senior Rayne Wheeler, sophomore Alexis Thompson and junior Addy Levitt took fourth place, clocking in at 4 minutes, 34.10 seconds.
“The Pinedale Homecoming Meet was a lot of fun,” said Co-Head Coach Kursty Day. “Having cheers from the hometown crowd is always encouraging to our girls. Catie Langlois showed great effort in her 200-freestyle by dropping 9 seconds and Jolynn Jones took 6 seconds off in the 200-individual medley. We look forward to a busy week with three meets.”
The team put in significant work leading up to Pinedale’s Homecoming, said Co-Head Coach Kelsey Harder, and the swimmers hit the pool early Saturday morning ready to compete.
“Everyone showed up smiling and full of excitement for the day,” Harder added. “The festivities of the weekend were enjoyed by the whole team. It was so great to celebrate Homecoming with so many wonderful student athletes from all over the state.”
