Sublette County Sheriff's Report Aug 22 - Aug. 28

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 183 calls from Aug. 22 through Aug. 28, including a drowning or diving accident, a suicidal person, a vehicle fire, eight suspicious incidents, three search and rescue calls, six livestock problems, four collisions, three fire calls, 35 vehicle identification number inspections and 22 urinalyses.

Aug. 22

At 12:18 a.m., a mobile app tip came in asking a deputy to check on someone’s welfare.

At 5:42 a.m., a dog was barking like something was wrong.

At 8:05 a.m., a gray Dodge pickup that was speeding and tailgating in Hoback Canyon passed someone in a turn lane.

At 10:18 a.m., a theft was reported.

At 11:07 a.m., a storage unit manager was trying to track down a customer before throwing belongings away.

At 11:18 a.m., a back patio door was shattered over the weekend; it turned out a lawn mower kicked up a rock.

At 1:19 p.m., a trailer park tenant couldn’t reach anyone about the water shut off.

At 1:38 p.m., a woman was concerned about dogs in a horse trailer. The dogs had water; it is under investigation.

At 4:17 p.m., a single vehicle rolled on Highway 191; it was transferred to Wyoming Highway Patrol.

At 5:29 p.m., lightning struck near Middle Piney Lake; the Forest Service checked out the smoke.

At 5:42 p.m., SAFV asked a deputy to check on a person’s welfare.

At 6:18 p.m., a medical emergency was reported.

At 6:40 p.m., an employee drove a Hummer 3 off the road and damaged it.

At 7:25 p.m., a commercial business’s burglar alarm went off.

At 7:32 p.m., someone backed into a rental car.

At 8:24 p.m., a mobile app tip came in with information about a person out on bond.

At 9:14 p.m., a burglar alarm went off.

Aug. 23

At 8:07 a.m., dogs had been barking since 6 a.m.

At 8:19 a.m., a detective ran an instant search before returning someone’s rifles.

At 8:46 a.m., a homeless man was shut in a Pinedale park bathroom that automatically locks at midnight.

At 9:34 a.m., a detective investigated an incident.

At 10:06 a.m., an SOS alert device went off and the person couldn’t be reached. It was accidental.

At 10:10 a.m., a man reported fraud that is under investigation.

At 12:57 p.m., a person had abdominal pains.

At 2:48 p.m., a man reported a theft.

At 2:48 p.m., a caller said intoxicated wedding guests were driving.

At 4:22 p.m., Department of Family Services asked for a deputy’s help with a urinalysis.

At 4:30 p.m., two calls came in complaining about a Nevada truck and trailer.

At 5:43 p.m., the clinic treated someone bitten by their own dog.

At 6:17 p.m., a person was suicidal.

At 6:25 p.m., a blue Subaru and white Dodge SUV were drag racing on Lake Street.

At 7:10 p.m., another person was treated for a dog bite.

At 8:13 p.m., a “lifted” white Chevy pickup was speeding up and down Ehman Lane.

Aug. 24

At 1:15 a.m., a driver hit a deer and went into the ditch but he had no idea where he was; he had no phone service.

At 12:27 p.m., a burglar alarm went off.

At 1:41 p.m., an SOS alert came in from Moosehead Bay on Fremont Lake.

At 1:51 p.m., a drowning or diving accident was reported.

At 3:15 p.m., a deputy started an incident report.

At 3:16 p.m., the SCSO drone was deployed.

At 6:56 p.m., a woman asked a deputy to check on someone’s welfare.

At 7:04 p.m., a suspicious blue sports car with no plates was parked by a motel.

At 7:17 p.m., a 911 call with a bad connection came in from Spanish speakers.

At 7:28 p.m., an email reported neglected dogs; a deputy checked and said they had food, water and shelter.

At 10:13 p.m., Sublette County maintenance said an SCSO truck was locked and the dome light was on.

At 11:18 p.m., a person wanted to present insurance info for a citation.

Aug. 25

At 8:36 a.m., a man tried to sort out an Amazon problem before he realized it might not be legitimate.

At 9:32 a.m., a half-dozen black cows were on the highway near Bondurant; the range rider was headed that way.

At 10:03 a.m., a small fire was reported in trees; the call was transferred to Teton County.

At 10:29 a.m., a drug detective started an investigation.

At 11:25 a.m., a deputy took a crime report.

At 1:54 p.m., a caller said a rancher’s cows were out.

At 3:40 p.m., a bucket in the road was a traffic hazard.

At 5:30 p.m., a Teton County deputy reported a couple cows out near Cliff Creek.

At 5:48 p.m., a drowning victim’s father called for an update.

At 7:45 p.m., a person was unconscious.

At 9:26 p.m., a deputy assisted with a patient.

At 10:16 p.m., a deputy helped someone who had fallen.

Aug. 26

At 8:44 a.m., a man reported an abandoned vehicle.

At 9:44 a.m., two people were “trespassed” from the Cowboy Bar.

At 10:20 a.m., two deputies heard an alarm going off.

At 10:21 a.m., road debris was a traffic hazard.

At 10:46 a.m., a woman who couldn’t get GPS called from the top of a peak near a lake. Tip Top Search and Rescue ‘s helicopter crew evacuated the woman, who wasn’t injured.

At 11:39 a.m., a woman driving a silver SUV flew past a construction flagger in the wrong lane.

At 11:44 a.m., a white SUV hit and killed a deer.

At 12:48 p.m., a silver Toyota was parked strangely and blocking spaces.

At 1:18 p.m., a caller reported a theft.

At 2:18 p.m., a deputy smelled marijuana during a traffic stop.

At 7:34 p.m., a caller asked a deputy to check on someone’s welfare.

At 8:24 p.m., a medical emergency was reported.

At 8:44 p.m., a Lincoln County dispatcher passed along rumor of a big fight happening at the Whalen Bridge.

At 9:48 p.m., two kids threw something at a driver’s windshield and ran into a building.

Aug. 27

At 10:45 a.m., a bull was standing in the highway where the Hoback River goes under the bridge.

At 11:02 a.m., a woman said three Latino men parked near her and followed her around a store. It was unfounded; one of the men’s wives works in the store and they were looking for her.

At 12:52 p.m., a medical emergency was reported.

At 1:09 p.m., a man wanted to talk to the sheriff and a judge about water rights from a canal.

At 2:17 p.m., a white Ford was bouncing between the lanes.

At 5:06 p.m., a red truck with a flag in the back was making too much noise.

At 10:45 p.m., a deputy checked on a person’s welfare.

Aug. 28

At 1:28 a.m., a medical emergency was reported.

At 5:13 a.m., another medical emergency was reported.

At 1:58 p.m., a suspicious 911 call came in with no background noise.

At 3:10 p.m., a garage door was broken.

At 3:45 p.m., a heart attack was reported.

At 4:10 p.m., a woman’s Apple Watch dialed 911 while she helped her husband cut firewood.

At 4:58 p.m., a person went into diabetic shock or coma.

At 6:02 p.m., a person hooked up jumper cables on a battery and went inside. When he came out the engine was smoking.

At 6:43 p.m., a silver Mercedes SUV was all over the road.

At 6:53 p.m., a medical emergency was reported.

At 7:16 p.m., a vehicle rollover was transferred to Lincoln County.

At 8:50 p.m., a driver hit a cow that was hurt but still alive.
