Racing against the best

EAGLE ISLAND, ID – Racing against the best runners from Wyoming, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Alaska and Hawai’i, Big Piney High School senior Colby Jenks took 61st place out of 193 athletes in the boys’ championship race at the Nike Cross (NXR) Cross-Country Regional Championships in Eagle Island, ID, on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Competing with the Jackson Hole Cross Country team, Jenks posted his second-fastest time of the season at 16 minutes, 11.60 seconds.

Jenks ran a “great race,” said head Jackson Hole High School Cross-Country Coach Jeff Brazil. Jenks placed third out of Wyoming runners in the NXR championship race, only 15 seconds away from the Wyoming State Champion, Brazil added.
