SUBLETTE COUNTY – At the end of 2022, facing a barrage of public opposition and county commissioners’ questions, the Jackson Fork Ranch agent tabled his request to expand its conditional use permit as a guest ranch.

The proposal sought to include the entire original ranch plus the newly acquired Dead Shot Ranch. Agent Morgan Fischer returns with the proposal going before the Sublette County Planning & Zoning Commission on Thursday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting in the Sublette County Commissioners Meeting Room, as well as the Feb. 21 county commissioners’ meeting where Fischer will lobby for approval.

On Tuesday morning, Feb. 7, Fischer is scheduled to address county commissioners about “an interpretation” tendered by Sublette County Planner Dennis Fornstrom.

The P&Z Commission and office staff are in the middle of rewriting and redefining draft regulations that add, change or delete terms and conditions – for guest ranches, resorts, light industrial a proposed new agricultural planned unit development (PDU) and other timely modifications.

The county’s “redlined” chapters with proposed and accepted text are posted to read download at sublettecountywy.gov. “Clean” chapters will be available for public viewing.
