MARBLETON At the regular Sublette County Fire Board meeting last Wednesday, new Fire Warden Shad Cooper laid out plans for fire service unification in the county. In a session prior to the formal meeting, the new appointee gave a presentation to the assembled firefighters, fire chiefs and other stakeholders.
Cooper was keen to point out his introduction was just the first step on the road to unification, and he was not going to force anything upon individual fire departments without working with them and consulting with them through the entire process. He laid out benefits of merging the stations into a county department by pointing out going through the unification plan would created a more effective and more efficient fire service and, importantly, reduce costs.
Its about working together to improve the service and to ensure the protection of all communi-ties, Cooper said.
