MARBLETON – Centennial celebrations only come around once every hundred years, and the Town of Marbleton made sure its historic birthday was one to remember last weekend.
Marbleton was incorporated in August 1914 after Lincoln County – Marbleton predates the existence of Sublette County – approved the creation of the town a few months prior.
Three days packed full of festivities kicked off last Thursday when crafters and food vendors joined a farmers market in the Marbleton Town Hall parking lot.
That evening, a ribbon cutting was held for two of the statues created by Oregon-based artist Georgia Bunn.
Mayor Jim Robinson had the honor of dedicating the newest additions of public art in the town.
The statues honor the history of Marbleton, and the American Legion Color Guard was on hand for the event.
