PINEDALE – Sublette County golf team sophomore Jordan Costello took home a first place medal and other players continued to improve their scores during the two-day Star Valley Invitational on Thursday and Friday. Six golfers shot their lowest scores of the season, and coach Luke Myszewski was proud of his team’s competitiveness.
“The work the team has been putting in at practices is really paying off and their scores reflect that,” Myszewski said. “The scores this past weekend should really boost the team’s confidence going into Conference this weekend.”
Myszewski has been working with his team to score consistently during both days of the tournament. While almost every golfer on the team scored lower during the second day of play, the numbers were close and golfers have been playing well from the first tee. Through two rounds on the par 72 course, seniors Dalton Jones and Hayden Fish scored a 172 and a 192, respectively. Junior Renan Fluckiger earned a 205 and sophomore Jak Tanner shot a 183.
