Wyoming reacts to delay in Obamacare mandates

Posted: Monday, Jul 8th, 2013

PINEDALE – The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced last Tuesday it would delay mandatory employer and insurer reporting requirements under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) for one year, moving the effective implementation date to January 2015. In Wyoming, Gov. Matt Mead said the delay justifies the state’s cautious approach to implementing the new mandates.

The ACA requirements were set to be implemented by January 2014 and would have mandated employers with 50 or more employees provide affordable health insurance to employees working a minimum average of 30 hours per week.

The Treasury confirmed implementation of these requirements would be pushed back one year in a post on its official website.
