Local racers leave their mark at White Pine Hill Climb

Local hill climb professional Aaron Sterck leans over the seat of his snow machine on his way up White Pine during the March 8 and 9 competition in Pinedale. Sterck took home several top spots, including King of the Hill honors on his 600-cc Polaris.

PINEDALE While the Rocky Mountain Hillclimb Association (RMSHA) attracts racers from far and wide, several local professionals also took to the hill Friday and Saturday, March 8 and 9.

Six Sublette County locals in particular posted impressive times at the two-day event. Scott Cheeney, Robert Jaskolski, Charlie Lopeman, Blaine Matthews, Sandy Sletten and Aaron Sterck all rode in multiple events and beat out many of the out-of-town competitors.
