County joins Piney Creeks‘restoration’in fire’s wake

BIG PINEY – The Fontenelle Fire might already seem like a memory of a summer passed for some, but for others, the impact of the wide-reaching fire and the restoration to come means the work is only just beginning.

An effort to find summer grazing for ranchers in the Piney Front is underway and includes a host of local agencies working with livestock producers to find functional solutions.

The Fontenelle Fire covered roughly 64,220 acres between June 24 and Oct. 25, mainly on the Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) High Desert District, but also on state and private lands.
