CASPER – The Pinedale High School alpine ski team placed well in its first meet of the season, skiing against state competition in Casper on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the boys’ team placed fourth and on Saturday, sixth. The girls’ side did just the opposite, taking sixth place Friday and fourth on Saturday.
In Friday’s competition, Pinedale sophomore Jake Hathaway was fastest down the course for a team-best 10th-place finish. Just behind him was senior Dalton Proud, finishing 13th. Freshman Tate Johnson fared well for a young skier, as he took home 17th place and a varsity letter in his first competition.
