PINEDALE – Businesses across the board, from retail to recreation and lodging, saw the Christmas season come and go with mixed results. Retail and lodging providers agree; business has felt the drag of oilfield inactivity. In the natural-gas lull, though, came a welcome boon – the reopening of White Pine Ski Resort.
Fred Pflughoft at the Great Outdoor Shop said White Pine’s reopening has helped business, during and outside of the holiday season.
“White Pine is open, and that’s good for us,” he said.
Likewise, the lodging community has been working to attract overnight visitors with the additional lure of skiing at the local hill.
