PINEDALE – A young Pinedale High School Wrangler wrestling team continues to show its mettle, winning two of four duals at Shoshoni over the weekend. Two Wrangler wrestlers, junior Klint Choate and sophomore Tanner Butner, went undefeated at the tournament to help the team to its two wins.
In past years, Pinedale has combined with other small squads to compete in the duals. This year, the Wranglers entered the tournament solo. Despite having to forfeit five weight classes, the Pinedale boys won against Rocky Mountain and the combined Big Piney-Dubois teams.
In its fourth dual match against host Shoshoni, Pinedale lost on points, 36-42. The Wranglers won more matches but due to the unfilled weight classes they had to give up, Shoshoni collected the win. With a win, the Wranglers would have been competing for third place of the 12 teams participating.
