“WECA is committed to be the voice that advocates for unity, provides professional development and supports the early care and education community to enrich the lives of children.”
There are only a few more days until Election Day! As we move to this important day we are asking each of you in your community to step up and do a few things. Get to know the candidates that may be representing you and their views on issues important to you as a professional, parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle and as a citizen of our country. You should ask your candidates the tough questions, the easy questions, a five-minute visit so you can better understand their views before you hit the polls. Please let them know you will be following up with them after the election also.
Get out and vote…. then make sure you help your colleagues or any other member of your community get to their polling place! Pick a program in your area and offer rides to those wanting to vote. Employers, give your employees a few minutes on Nov. 6 to vote. Those serving children’s programs stay open 30 minutes later so families can vote after work. Call a few friends to see if they need a ride, car pool!
Let’s do our job in 2012 by voting. This tells our elected officials we care and hope they are going to do the same thing!
Work together as a community, state and one country.
