Debra Gayle Gold Hokanson, 58, of Rock Springs, Wyo., passed away on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at her home. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Mrs. Hokanson passed away following a brief illness.
She was born on Feb. 21, 1954, in Hawthorne, Nev., the daughter of Herman Gold and Irene M. Cordova Gold.
Mrs. Hokanson attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the Class of 1972. She also received a marketing degree from Western Wyoming Community College in May of 2004.
She married Mark Clifford Hokanson in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, in 1988.
Mrs. Hokanson worked in the warehouse for Jim Bridger Power Plant for 28 years.
Survivors include her husband Mark Hokanson of Rock Springs, Wyo., parents Irene and Marvin Weik of Rock Springs, daughter Misty Gold Cozad and husband Rick of Rock Springs, two brothers Michael Gold and wife Nora and Christopher Gold, both of Rock Springs, three sisters Vicki Riley of Rock Springs, Glenda Macy of Rock Springs and Penny Gold-Sena and husband Tony of Denver, Colo., four grandchildren Trenton Wilson, Rikki Cozad, Ashley Cozad and Amber Cozad, sister-in-law Marilyn Dockter and husband Maynard of Green River, Wyo., and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Herman Gold and mother and father-in-law Clifford and Ruth Hokanson.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Ave., Rock Springs, Wyoming. Father Glen Szczechowski officiated. A vigil service with rosary was recited Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at the church. Interment was in the Rest Haven Memorial Garden north of Rock Springs.
