I live 1,600 miles from Sublette County, and I depend on my Examiner subscription to keep up with area news.
In an earlier edition of the Examiner, I read about changes in staffs at the Examiner and Roundup. I wasn’t sure what that meant, but when I received my papers after that, I noticed that Joy Ufford’s articles were missing.
Then in the March 5 Examiner, on page 4, in the Perspectives article, there was a mention of changes, the loss of reporter Jess McGlothlin and something about “our faithful editor Megan Neher.” There was no mention of editor, Joy Ufford.
I, as well as many others, I am sure, would like to know why Joy’s articles are not currently in the paper. Joy is a talented writer and has a broad range of knowledge and many interests. The region was covered well by Joy and the staff. Joy’s articles were timely, interesting and appealed to a broad spectrum of readers. I could add numerous outstanding contributions and discuss positive leadership abilities but I will stop here and ask the question.
What happened to Joy?
Your/her readers would like to know.
June Wright Sweede, Perrysburg, Ohio
Editor’s note: Due to corporate issues, the staffs were consolidated and I became editor of both papers. I agree that Joy was a talented writer; as to any personnel decisions, you'll have to speak with the publisher.
