BIG PINEY – The Big Piney High School girls’ varsity volleyball team traveled to Kemmerer last Tuesday to compete against the Lady Rangers. The following Saturday, the Lady Punchers hosted a double-header against Wind River and Wyoming Indian high schools.

The Lady Punchers lost to Kemmerer and Wind River, but pulled a win from Wyoming Indian, which brought the team’s overall and 2A West Conference records to 3-6 and 5-7, respectively.

Against Kemmerer, the Lady Punchers seemed to have lost their momentum as the sets progressed. In the first set, Big Piney was overrun with a score of 25-18. After that, the Lady Punchers failed to find their groove and dropped the set with a score of 25-16. Down by two, Big Piney only had one more chance to take a set and push the game into more than three sets, but the Lady Punchers found themselves in a hole they could not overcome and dropped the third set and overall game with a score of 25-9.
