PINEDALE – The Sublette County girls’ swim team added two new qualifications before going into this weekend’s conference meet in Jackson. Coach Ron Ruckman said the team will work on getting more athletes qualified at the meet, pushing swimmers in the events where they are closest to crossing that threshold.
“We want to take as many to State as possible,” he said.
At the dual meet in Lyman on Friday, pitting Lyman High School against the Sublette team, the athletes put their team on top with a number of first-place finishes and a new qualification from senior Heather Grossman in the 200-yard freestyle.
Grossman was one of five top finishes at Lyman. Junior Abigail Fear won the 50-yard freestyle sprint, freshman Shantelle Rule won the diving event, sophomore Lizzy McGinnis won the 500-yard distance freestyle and Paige Wright took first in the 100-yard breaststroke.
