PINEDALE – The Pinedale High School Wranglers football team found itself trailing early in its first home game of the season against the Lovell High School Bulldogs on Friday night, and after the early deficit, the Wranglers could not find their way back into the game. The Bulldogs took a win in Pinedale, 39-13.

The Wranglers got off to a tough start on the Bulldogs’ first possession of the game. The visiting team slipped its tight end behind Pinedale’s secondary and hit him for a long pass that went for a touchdown.

Keeping track of the extremely athletic Lovell receiver became a recurring problem for the Wrangler’s defense, as the play was repeated several times throughout the first half. While Pinedale’s defense worked to readjust its zone coverage, the Wrangler’s offense took the field.

Pinedale’s usually productive running game took a little time to get on track. Early run plays for senior Ethan Egle and junior Rusty Steele were contained for the most part by the Bulldog’s defense.
