PINEDALE – The Pinedale High School girls’ varsity volleyball team took the short trip to Big Piney last Tuesday to face the Lady Punchers in a game that ultimately led to a win for Pinedale. The following Saturday, the Lady Wranglers headed down to Rawlins for the Rawlins Tournament, where Cody and Lander high schools got the best of Pinedale.

The Lady Wranglers were hungry for a win when they played Big Piney last Tuesday. After losing its first home game of the season to Star Valley High School, Pinedale walked into the Puncher Gym ready to offer some competition to its cross-county rival. In the first set, the two teams seemed evenly matched, and Pinedale barely hit the 25-point mark before its foe could (25-21). The second set was a much more decisive win for Pinedale (25-12), and the third set was another close game that could have gone either way (25-20).

With its first win of the season under its belt, the Lady Wranglers headed down to Rawlins for a series of matches that would test the team’s drive and stamina.
