BIG PINEY – The Sublette County girls’ swim team hosted its second home meet of the season last Friday at the Big Piney High School pool. As one of only two pools in the conference to be in meters, the swimmers had to deal with slightly different distances and qualifying thresholds.
The next day, the athletes visited the other meter pool at a meet at Kemmerer High School. Measuring distances in meters rather than yards seem to have gotten some of the girls off their game, and there were no new qualifiers for the state meet during the two contests.
Both meets consisted primarily of the Lyman, Kemmerer and Sublette County teams, although Rock Springs High School traveled to Big Piney on Friday.
