PINEDALE - Two Pinedale High School (PHS) throwers qualified for State at Regionals last weekend. Meet after meet, junior Teerstyn Johnson and senior Ryan Reed would throw nearly-qualifying distances in the shot put and the discus. This weekend, both Johnson and Reed qualified in the top eight of their events at Regionals and earned their spot on the State bus.
Johnson earned eighth place in the shot put with a mark of 31 feet, seven inches. She then went on to qualify in the discus throw and earned seventh place with a mark of 103-02.
Reed earned seventh place in the shot put, throwing a distance of 44-08.5. Not to be outdone by Johnson, he also qualified in the discus throw and earned seventh place, again, with a mark of 126-01.
