Stephen Edmund Herrera, 66, of North Bonneville, Wash., passed away in his home on March 8, 2013.
He was born on Dec. 2, 1946 in Denver, Colo., to Rosie Valdez Herrera and Albert Herrera.
He served one tour in Vietnam as a Marine and then returned to his hometown of Butte, Mont., and worked in the mines and construction. He traveled all over with his trade. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching his grand kids grow.
Stephen is survived by his daughter, Rosie Herrera of North Bonneville, Wash.; son, David Brasher of Vicenza, Italy; sister, Dorothy Wentzel of Maupin, Ore.; brother Roger Herrera of Mount Vernon, Wash.; brother Carlos Herrera of Taos, N.M.; brothers Daniel Herrera and Manual Herrera of Butte, Mont.; as well as five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life ceremony will take place Aug. 3 in Grand Junction, Colo. at 3 p.m. at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery. He wishes to be buried at his mother’s feet.
The family would like to thank Providence Hospice of the Gorge for being so wonderful to Steve and making his last days pleasant. He will be forever in our hearts.
