Aurelio A. Medina Aug. 18, 1940 Nov. 6, 2012

Aurelio A. Medina, 72, of Green River, Wyo., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. A longtime resident of Green River, Mr. Medina had been in ill health for the past year.

He was born on Aug. 18, 1940, in Llano, New Mexico, the son of Alfred and Epifania Medina.

Mr. Medina attended schools in Green River and was a 1959 graduate of the Green River High School. He married Jennie Vigil at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Rock Springs on July 9, 1960. Mr. Medina was employed at General Chemical for 34 years and retired as a heavy equipment operator in 2002.

His interests included spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed doing cryptograms. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Fraternal Order of the Eagles #2350.

Survivors include his wife Jennie Medina of Green River, Wyo.; his mother Epifania Medina of Vadito, N.M.; one son Jerry Medina and wife Jessica of Salt Lake City, Utah; four daughters Glory Enloe and husband Craig of Green River, Wyo., Lorranie Medina and husband Steve Colson of Craig, Colo., Loretta Andrews and husband Dale of Green River, Wyo., and Susie Medina of Green River, Wyo.; two brothers Fidel Medina and Obed Medina and wife Rosie all of Vadito, N.M.; three sisters Alice Arguello and husband Joe of Livermore, Calif., Nellie Vargas and Edna Abeyta both of Vadito, N.M.; six grandchildren Jessica Mitchell, Victoria Hemphill, Nicholas Andrews, Christopher Andrews, Matthew Medina and Derek Medina; six great-grandchildren Kamen Mitchell, Karlie Mitchell, Anthony Mitchell, Jackson Mitchell, Noah Hemphill and Drew Hemphill and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, brother George Medina and granddaughter Erica Andrews.

Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 900 Hitching Post Drive, Green River, Wyo. A vigil service with rosary was recited Tuesday at the church. Graveside Services and Inurnment were in the Riverview Cemetery Columbarium.

His family respectfully suggests that donations in his memory be made to Cowboys Against Cancer, 1893 Dewar Drive, Rock Springs, Wyo., or Huntsman Cancer Foundation, 500 Huntsman Way, Salt Lake City, Utah 84108.
