Doryce Joy Belmore-Stelling July 15, 1937 – Sept. 14, 2012

Posted: Monday, Sep 24th, 2012

Doryce Joy Belmore-Stelling, 75, passed away Friday morning Sept. 14, 2012, at the Sublette Retirement Center in Pinedale, Wyo., with her daughter and son-in-law at her side.

Doryce was born July 15, 1937, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Millard E. and Esther L. Tilford Carson. She graduated from Garland High School in Garland, Texas, in 1955. She worked most of her life in secretarial and bookkeeping. She married her late husband Mylon James (M.J.) Stelling in Texas in 1994. The two of them then moved to Nebraska to enjoy their retirement years together.

Doryce was a member of the Racine County Rifle Club and enjoyed shooting sports and keeping track of stats. She was also an avid bowler; she bowled almost at the professional level. She enjoyed knitting, reading and was an astrologer. She loved people. She once took a job as a bartender because she enjoyed the connection the job gave her with others. She made friends easily and with almost anyone. A friend once asked her how she was able to make friends so easily and she said, “I find something good about someone and then go from there.”

Her love for her fellow man coincided with her deep personal Christian belief.

Doryce is survived by her children Katrina Lynn (Kristopher) Wittlieff of Pinedale, Wyo.; Bradley David (Annette) Belmore of Oceanside, Calif.; Doryce Joe “Doddie” (Mark) Anderson of West Bend, Wis.; Virginia Ann (Hassan) Aicha of Dallas, Texas; and stepson Kirk (Alissa) Stelling of Texas; brother Lee (Velma) Carson; sister Ann (Bob) Kennemer and twin brother David Carson and grandchildren Aneesa Rahman, Jennifer L. Anderson, Abed Aicha, Hannah Aicha, Zain Aicha and numerous other nieces nephews and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband M.J. Stelling and son Henry Lee Belmore.

A memorial funeral service was held Thursday, Sept. 20, at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Orchard, Neb. Memorial contributions in Doryce’s memory can be made to the Sublette Retirement Center, P.O. Box 788, Pinedale, WY 82941 or The National Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
