PINEDALE – The Sublette County School District (SCSD) No. 1 board of trustees voted unanimously at their meeting last Thursday night to approve a list of summer construction projects.
SCSD No. 1 Superintendent Jay Harnack said every year, near this time, the board is asked to consider proposed maintenance and upgrades to school facilities. While some of the projects make the list every year – like striping the parking lot – others, such as upgrading the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (HVAC), were proposed for the first time.
The board supported a list of 13 projects after each item was explained and discussed. The projects will be funded through the major maintenance budget.
Among the approved summer maintenance, carpet in the entryways of Pinedale High School (PHS) will be replaced, with the expense budgeted at $5,700.
“The board approved this last year, and this is just a continuation of the project,” Chairman Mark Pape said.
Vern McAdams, SCSD No. 1 director of business and finance, added the district is “basically just trying to take care of the building.”
