PINEDALE – Sublette County School District (SCSD) No. 1 has historically been a strong supporter of the Region V Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES). Region V BOCES serves school districts in seven counties, and SCSD No. 1 currently has just one student in a Region V program – with that as background, the board revisited its support of the specialized services and how, if at all, to contribute funding.
Region V BOCES provides specialized education services to its member districts, including the C-V Ranch in Wilson, a residential school and treatment facility for students in need of near-constant care and counseling.
Region V BOCES Executive Director Doris Woodbury, a former SCSD No. 1 superintendent and board of trustees member, was on the agenda at Thursday evening’s regular board meeting to discuss funding options. Woodbury told the board she was not attending to solicit money but was there to answer any questions the board might have.
