WYOMING – State lawmakers are two weeks into the 2013 Wyoming Legislative Session and key issues are rising to the top of public discussion.
The battle for control of state education is drawing eyes and critics, as are preemptive gun control measures and local issues.
In a much discussed debate on the direction of state education, Senate File (SF) 104 passed three readings in the Senate and has been introduced on the House floor. The bill would create a statutorily appointed director of the Wyoming Department of Education, supplanting elected official Cindy Hill’s power as superintendent of education.
