The Children’s Discovery Center held its back-to-school open house Friday evening at Boyd Skinner Park in Pinedale. The event included a rubber duck race as a fundraiser to raise money for building expansion at the Discovery Center.

According to Director Rebecca Fogerty, about $500 was raised. Jessica Dohrmann was the winner of the rubber duck race as her duck was netted first by Shauna Hall. Dohrmann won $100. Ducks were released at Harmony Bridge and floated about 40 yards before being netted by Hall and other volunteers.
